Care of alpaca wool products
With proper washing and drying, a garment made of alpaca wool will regain its original shape.
General recommendations for washing alpaca wool products:
- It is recommended to wash alpaca wool products like regular wool: either by hand or on a wool wash program at 30°C.
- Use only detergents intended for wool!
- When washing and drying, avoid rubbing and twisting the product!
- After rinsing with cool/lukewarm water, you can dry the product with a towel (roll the item in a dry and clean towel). After a few minutes, remove the item from the towel and lay it flat to dry, preferably on a sauna towel.
Caring for products made of alpaca wool and leather (furry toys, slippers, rugs, etc.):
- If dirty, remove dirt with water and a cloth. Often, dirt can also be removed by combing it out with a brush.
- To maintain fluffiness, you can shake and adjust the products from time to time.
TIP! To maintain the beauty and warmth of products made from furry yarn, we recommend brushing/combing them between wearing times and after washing. We use, for example, a comb designed for pets.
What not to do?
- Do not use hot water or a dryer! This can easily shrink and/or warp the products.
- Do not use fabric softeners or bleaches!
You should definitely not wash alpaca wool products too often! Due to the smooth fiber, alpaca wool is self-cleaning and does not get dirty quickly.
